The “Turn Everett Blue” campaign to honor Officer Dan Rocha and the members of the Everett Police Department is underway through Monday.
Hundreds of blue lightbulbs have been given away and people are using them to turn their porch lights blue.
The Totem Diner at 43rd and Rucker will have about 50 blue bulbs available for free when they open at 7 AM Saturday morning. They are on a first-come, first-served basis. All the bulbs at Platt Electric have been given out.
We’re seeing more signs honoring Officer Rocha and hope to see more over the weekend and we are encouraging people with reader boards to put up a message of support or remembrance.
Especially for those businesses along Monday’s procession route west along Everett Mall Way from the south precinct to Evergreen Way and then north on Evergreen and Rucker to downtown Everett. The procession is expected to start around 11 AM.
There is a candlelight vigil scheduled for Sunday night at 7:30 PM outside the Everett Police north precinct at Wall and Wetmore in downtown Everett.
A reminder that parking will be restricted in the downtown core starting Sunday and all-day Monday in preparation for the Memorial Procession and Service. The doors at Angel of the Winds Arena will open at 12Noon for the 1 PM service. Plan on parking at Everpark or several blocks away and walking to the Arena.
