EGM CEO, Sylvia Anderson, is retiring.

With a mixture of gratitude and anticipation, Everett Gospel Mission today announces the retirement of its CEO, Sylvia Anderson, effective June 30, 2024, and the appointment of John Hull as the new CEO starting July 1, 2024.

Since taking on the role of interim CEO in 2000 and subsequently becoming the permanent CEO, Sylvia Anderson has devoted 24 years to leading the Mission in engaging with the community to alleviate poverty. Under her leadership, the Mission has expanded its reach, increased its impact and added services to meet the changing needs of the community.

Sylvia’s profound influence on the Mission and our community cannot be overstated,” said a Board of Officers spokesperson. “Her commitment, insight and compassion have propelled the Mission to new heights, changing lives and inspiring all of us who have had the privilege of working with her.”

John Hull will take over as CEO of EGM

John Hull, who has been with Everett Gospel Mission for nearly two decades and currently serves as the Director of Strategic Development, will succeed Sylvia.

John has been instrumental in shaping the Mission’s strategic initiatives and has worked closely with Sylvia to ensure the organization’s goals and values are met. His deep understanding of the Mission’s operations and community dynamics positions him well to lead the organization into its next phase of growth and service to the community.

Walking alongside Sylvia is and will be the highlight of my career,” said John Hull. “I would not be who I am—nor would EGM have accomplished the work it has without her vision, leadership and heart.

The Board of Officers expresses its profound thanks to Sylvia for her decades of service and leadership. They also enthusiastically welcome John as he prepares to guide Everett Gospel Mission forward with continued dedication and vision.

EGM first opened its doors in 1961 and has been engaging with the community to alleviate poverty ever since.
