Three dozen law enforcement officers spent more than two hours combing the streets of downtown Everett early this morning after a 16-year-old murder suspect assaulted a deputy and escaped while being taken into the Snohomish County Courthouse.
Snohomish County Sheriff’s Lieutenant A.J. Bryant identified the teen as Bryan Rodriguez-Hernandez, who was taken into custody on the Village Green Mobile Home Park shooting that happened Thursday morning.
Bryant said Rodriguez-Hernandez was being escorted back from the hospital for transport to the courthouse in downtown Everett, when he slipped his right hand from the hand from the handcuffs, struck the escorting Deputy in the head and escaped from him. That was around 2 AM.
3 different K-9 teams scoured streets throughout the downtown Everett area and to the south before that part of the search was suspended around 4 AM.
Major crimes detectives from the Sheriff’s office are now working to relocate the suspect who had been taken into custody along with others over the weekend.
Rodriguez-Hernandez is wanted for murder in the first degree, escape in the first degree and assault in the third degree. If you have any information on his whereabouts you are asked to call the SCSO tip line at 425-388-3845.
