Still gathering information but a man in his 30s was shot during some type of altercation with another man during a youth football game at Everett Memorial Stadium Saturday afternoon.

Everett Police spokesperson Ora Hamel tells officers responded to reports of a person shot just before 4:00 PM.

Medics were called and the man who was shot was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center.

His injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

Hamel says officers believe the two know each other and the shooting occurred near the entrance to the field and not in the stands or stadium.

The shooter reportedly left the area in a vehicle.

The Youth League has cancelled the games for the rest of the evening.

The investigation remains active and at this writing there have been no arrests. We will update when more information is made available.
