What do you think is the right number of Everett City Council districts?

Now that the public outreach meetings are over the City of Everett has launched an online survey to get residents opinions on how they think Everett City Council districts should look. There are several options with the questions and almost always an “other” option so you can provide your own take and description of what you would like to see. The online survey is available in English and Spanish and you can request other languages. It is only online so if you know a senior or other person who may be interested but not computer savvy you may want to help them out. People can also get assistance with the computers at both Everett Library branches. Here’s more from the city.

The City of Everett is conducting a public process for the evaluation of council districts with the possibility of putting forward a council districting measure in the November 2018 general election.

The City held four community meetings in April to provide a chance for residents to learn about City Council representation and election by district, and to discuss these topics with other community members.

Residents are encouraged to educate themselves about council districting and provide public input by completing a survey before May 31. Results of the survey will help inform the City Council about the public’s views.

Educational information and a link to the survey can be found at www.everettwa.gov/districting. The survey is available in English and Spanish. For assistance on other translations of the survey, please contact Wendy McClure and allow 72 hours for a translated survey: wmcclure@everettwa.gov.
