Received an update this afternoon from the S.M.A.R.T. team investigating the shooting that followed a wild police chase thru Everett Sunday. The suspect is still in the hospital and four law enforcement officers are on paid administrative leave. Here’s what was released today…

The investigation into the police shooting of a 34 year-old shooting suspect last Sunday night continues. Witnesses in the area during the incident reported to detectives that after the suspect’s vehicle crashed at the intersection of 88th St SW and 53rd Ave W in Mukilteo, followed by the pursing police vehicles, the suspect exited his vehicle. Gunfire followed shortly thereafter and during the on-scene investigation a weapon believed to belong to the suspect was recovered.

The suspect is still being treated at Harborview Medical Center. No responding officers reported any injuries.

The male Camano Island shooting victim is also still in the hospital, while the female victim was treated and released.
