Those traveling through North Everett from Marysville on evenings or weekends should expect to see traffic delays due to 529 Steamboat Slough Bridge repairs. Here’s the rundown:
Lane reductions & overnight repairs started today. Here’s what to expect going forward:
Weeknights from 9pm to 5am for the next 3 weeks: nightly lane reductions.
Weekends Friday 11pm to Monday 5am: completely closed the weekends of January 19th, 26th and February 2nd.
During the weekend-long closures, people can still reach businesses west of SR 529 using the northbound highway.
Repairs are addressing weather corrosion. The purpose of this project is to preserve and protect the bridges from corrosion damage and ensure the movable spans function properly.
The southbound Steamboat Slough Bridge was built in 1927 and rebuilt in 1993.
The other two bridges are also being repaired & painted as a part of this project (Northbound Steamboat Slough Bridge, and the Snohomish River Bridge).
