January 8, 2024

Everett

It’s been a mild winter in Western Washington so far, but that may change soon. Temperatures in Everett will drop below freezing starting Thursday night, dipping to 19 degrees Fahrenheit by Friday evening.

Mountain passes are expected to close tomorrow due to blizzard conditions. Everett could see a few inches of snow between Thursday night and Saturday afternoon.

Shelters are preparing for the cold temperatures. Jason Cockburn of the Second Chance Foundation wrote: “It was one year ago I found and elderly gentleman that didn’t survive this weather. I will not stand by and do nothing if it’s in my ability to do something.”

Jason will hosting movies food and cheer to ALL unsheltered. He’s also trying to arrange transportation to cold weather centers.
