Police Investigate Fatal Midnight Shooting Near 26th And Broadway In Everett, Washington

The fatal shooting happened around midnight in the 2000 block of 26th street.

Editor’s Update 11:55 AM: Everett Police put out a press release this morning saying the person who died was a male in his 30s and the person who is believed to have fatally shot him is a male in his 50s. That man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail this morning on suspicion of 2nd degree murder. Ora Hamel with EPD tells MyEverettNews.com a preliminary investigation revealed the two males were known to one another, but the nature of their relationship is still under investigation. Major Crimes detectives are still investigating the incident. There is no evidence to suggest any outstanding suspects. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner will identify the victim and provide cause and manner of death.

fatal shootingInitial Post 6:00 AM: Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit of Everett Police were called out late Tuesday night following a fatal shooting.

It happened in the 2000 block of 26th street, just west of Broadway right around midnight.

Arriving officers found a person down with an apparent gunshot wound. They began life-saving measures and called for a medic unit from Everett Fire. Upon arrival the medics determined the person had died.

Patrol Officers took a man in his fifties into custody at the scene. As of this writing detectives were on their way to the location to determine the circumstances of the shooting.
