Everett, Washington Shooting Investigation Now A Murder Case After Teen Dies

Editor’s Update 12;15 AM: Late Friday night Everett Police arrested an 18-year-old male in connection with the shooting and booked him into the Snohomish County Jail. No other suspects are believed to be outstanding.

Detectives have been on scene for 4 hours as of this writing working a very large scene.

Editor’s Update 5:30 PM:
Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit with Everett Police remain on scene as they cover a crime scene that stretches over five blocks on East Casino Road in south Everett, Washington. Everett Police say an 18-year-old male is dead and the search continues for the suspect. More below.
E. Casino Road

East Casino Road closed between 7th SE and Kossuth.

A K-9 was brought in to look for suspects and evidence.

Not a lot of information as the investigation is still very active but Everett Police have confirmed they are investigating a shooting that occurred Friday afternoon.

About 1:30 PM Everett Police and Fire were called to a report of people yelling about a person who had been shot. They were in a car on East Casino Road near Kossuth Avenue.

Everett Police arrived and began doing life saving measures along with Everett Fire Medics who transported one person to the hospital.

As of this writing there is no word on the person’s condition.

East Casino Road has been shut down between Kossuth and 7th Avenue SE while officers investigate.

Cascade High School was not in full session but was locked down as a precaution as were a nearby Elementary and Middle schools.

A K-9 was brought in to look for a suspect and evidence.

As of this writing the investigation remains active.

Everett Police reported the shooting victim was not a student at Cascade High School and the campus was not involved in any way as far as they could tell.

We expect more information and will update as that becomes available.

As of this writing East Casino Road remains closed between 7th SE and Kossuth as is Bruin Boulevard east of Evergreen Way. No word on when they may reopen.
