Shots Fired Call Shuts Down Broadway During Afternoon Commute In Everett – 3 Juveniles Detained, 3 Guns Recovered

Editor’s Update Thursday 09/21/2023. Here’s this morning’s press release from Everett Police:
Yesterday, a little after 5 p.m., officers working a proactive patrol were in the area of 26th St and Lombard when they heard numerous gun shots nearby. The officers were able to quickly respond to the area and determined there were no victims on scene. Additional EPD officers responded, assisted by multiple surrounding agencies.
Witnesses described three juvenile males, two of which began shooting before running northbound. Officers quickly located the three juveniles, and they were taken into custody. Each of the three juveniles had a firearm on their person. A Snohomish County K-9 team conducted a track that led to the suspects.
All three suspects were later booked into Denney Youth Center. Two of the males were booked on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful discharge, and malicious mischief 2. The other male was booked for unlawful possession of a firearm.

Not a whole lot of detail but here’s what we know following a shots fired call this afternoon near 26th and Broadway in Everett, Washington.

Around 5 PM an Everett Police officer working an emphasis patrol called out a shots fired call in the area of 26th and Broadway in north Everett.

The officer heard shots fired with at least one suspect running north on Broadway.

Other officers working in the area quickly responded. That included Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputies and members of the Everett Police Violent Crimes Unit.

North of the area where shots were reported, officers located and detained three juvenile males near 22nd and Broadway.

Three guns were recovered.

A command post was set up near 26th and Broadway and shell casings were recovered in the street between Broadway and Lombard.

Broadway was shut down between Everett Avenue and 22nd Street while a K-9 was brought in to do a confirmation track.

As of this writing the three juveniles were transported to the Everett Police north precinct and officers were still investigating the circumstances.

There have not been reports of anyone being hit by gunfire.
