It’s still extremely dry and firefighters from Everett, Washington and surrounding agencies have deal dealing with multiple brush fires over the last several days.

Two separate unrelated brush fires slowed traffic in Everett around noon today. In the first, brush was burning in multiple spots along SR 526 (Boeing Freeway) eastbound near Seaway Boulevard. Crews from Everett Fire along with mutual aid from Mukilteo dealt with those.

A few minutes after that fire crews from Everett along with mutual aid from Lake Stevens dealt with a brush fire along northbound I-5 just before the Marine View Drive exit in north Everett. Thant caused about a three mile traffic backup.

Firefighters are asking folks to use extreme caution and good judgement as it takes very little to ignite the brush given our current conditions.
