“I’ve spent the past year looking for a perfect spot for my second location and believe I’ve found it here in Everett, ” Jesus told me when we talked this week. “People are going to love exploring our menu and seeing how we prepare seafood.”
Before he went into the restaurant business Jesus was in construction. During the Pandemic he talked with an old family friend who wanted him to come to Chicago and take over a restaurant operation there. Jesus didn’t want to leave his family in the Pacific Northwest so he made a counter offer.
“I told him there was no Mexican Seafood menu like this in the entire Seattle area, teach me your menu and let me present it here,” explained Jesus. “All seafood is the same, they have shrimp in China like they have shrimp here, what makes the difference is how you cook it.”
The food is prepared in the style one would find eating in the Puerto Vallarta region in the state of Jalisco Mexico. Favorite suggestions include:
The location in Everett is over 6000 square feet and includes a full service bar and cocktail lounge. Happy Hour is Monday – Friday from 4 – 7 PM.
The restaurant is open seven days a week from 10 AM – 10 PM.
El Muchacho Alegre is a family affair with Jesus’ mother and sister working in Everett along with a few cousins and close friends. When fully staffed they expect to employ two dozen people.
Again they’re located in the former Alfy’s at 2317 Broadway in north Everett, Washington. Bring you’re appetite but don’t be shy about getting a to-go box. The portions are huge.
