Last Week To Catch The Ferry To Everett’s Jetty Island

About the Jetty

First off – let’s make sure you’re familiar with Jetty Island. It’s a two-mile-long, human-made island that acts as a ‘breakwater’ for the Everett Marina. Besides its functional purpose, it’s also an excellent beach. True story, it’s probably one of Washington’s best beaches, and the water is pretty warm because it’s shallow. Since the sandy beaches stretch for over two miles, so you’ll have plenty of space to spread out and have fun while still social distancing.

Visiting the Jetty is a little like stepping back in time – there are no cars, no electricity, and no running water – so you’ll want to prepare accordingly.

Getting there

To get there, you’ll need to reserve a space on the public ferry that runs five days a week (Wednesday through Sunday) July 6 through Sept. 4, for a nominal fee of $3 per person, kids under 2 years old are free. *Note* No pets allowed on the ferry or on the island.

Parking

Visitor parking is available at Jetty Landing Park on a first come, first served basis. Parking is available for free up to two hours, posted rates apply thereafter.

Ferry schedule

The 60-passenger ferry operates Wednesday-Sunday from July 6 – Sept. 4. The ferry departs from Jetty Landing, adjacent to the boat launch at 10th Street and W. Marine View Drive. Available return time passes can be picked up on arrival at the Jetty.

•  Wednesdays, Thursdays &  Sundays: 10 a.m. – 5:15 p.m. (return ferry runs 12:15 – 6 p.m.)
•  Friday & Saturday: 10 a.m. – 6:15 p.m. (return ferry runs 12:15 – 6:45 p.m.)

Personal watercraft

Jetty is open to anyone who can get there. So if you have your own boat, all aboard! Kayak, canoe or paddle board out for some serious summer fun. Anytime is a good time to visit Everett’s Jetty Island, but if you can swing it, the best times are sunny weekdays at low tide. The beach tends to be a little quieter and the water is super warm as it comes back in from low tide.
