The Everett City Council passed two resolutions Wednesday night. One, approving a climate action plan and two, a declaration of a climate crisis in Everett, Washington.

The City Council announced that it found climate change poses an existential threat to public health, safety and welfare. They also declared the emergent nature of this threat requires immediate and ongoing actions, including a transition to a clean energy economy and mitigation and adaptation strategies.
