Top Foods Wal-Mart We first told you about the purchase of the Top Foods location on Everett Mall Way by Wal-Mart back in October of 2011. At that time we reported that Wal-Mart purchased it for 10 million dollars in April of 2011 as a placeholder along with another Top Foods location in Oregon. Recently they pulled their construction permits and work is underway to expand the current Top Foods shell to 90,000 square feet for a Wal-Mart with groceries similar to the one on Highway 99 at 172nd in north Lynnwood. Both are smaller than the Walmart at 115th and Evergreen Way in south Everett. The store is expected to open late this summer.

Everett Olive GardenMeanwhile another business is moving from the Top Foods area across the street to the Everett Mall. Construction is underway on a new Olive Garden Restaurant in the parking lot across from Famous Dave’s and the main Everett Mall entrance. The manager on duty Sunday at the current Olive Garden location said he couldn’t comment and with the Holiday weekend, no one from corporate was available.
