There is a new owner and the project has a new name, Grand Avenue Marketplace and Apartments. According to Ryan Crowther at Puget PR, in August EB5 Group LLC took ownership of the Grand Avenue Marketplace and Apartments from the receivership company known as The Grassmueck Group. EB5 Group LLC has retained The Carlin Company, who is acting as development manager for the retail ground floor and is responsible for planning, implementation and overseeing the successful opening of Farms & Market and profitable operations of the entire marketplace.
Grand Avenue Marketplace will offer 40,000 square feet of specialized retail space along Grand between Wall and California streets. Choux Choux Bakery has been the one tenant operating in the space for the past year but Crowther says the developer expects several letters of intent to be signed shortly.
Farms and Market is expected to be the centerpiece of the project. Here’s a description from their website. An innovative, farm-based kitchen and cafĂ© will offer regional fresh produce and prepared foods to take-out or enjoy seated with local beers and wine. Farms & Market will be open year-round and the grand opening is slated for early 2018.
We connect producers, growers and consumers through innovative and sustainable market practices that energize and strengthen a diverse agricultural economy through a retail market location.
The Farms & Market model is built on providing access to a variety of seasonal, fresh, regional foods while building a strong sense of community through direct involvement with farmers, growers and producers. Farms & Market will offer specialty food products to compliment produce and prepared foods.
