The crash happened on April 17th, 2015 at the intersection of Rockefeller and 23rd street north of downtown Everett.
According to the charging papers, about 11:45 AM, Deputy Sadro was going south on Rockefeller when he failed to stop for a stop sign at 23rd Street.
His patrol car was broadsided by a Honda Element and spun into a parked pickup truck where an Everett man, Thomas Gillette, was retrieving some tools.
The deputy’s car pinned Gillette who had to have both legs amputated as a result of the crash.
The charging documents say the deputy was travelling between 46-47 miles per hour at the time of impact.
The speed limit on that street is 25 miles per hour.
Sadro is expected to enter a plea to the charges on the 23rd of this month. If convicted he could face up to 10 years in prison, a fine of $20,000.00 or both.
