On April 9, the Port of Everett Commission approved a 10-year lease with two five-year extension options for a 2,400-square-foot interior restaurant space with expansive outdoor patio along the Marina esplanade. Alexa’s Cafe will be occupying that space, serving up scrambles and pancakes with a waterfront view.

The new Everett cafe location joins Rustic Cork Wine Bar, Tapped Public House and Menchie’s @ the Marina at a new 12,000-square-foot building being constructed at Fisherman’s Harbor, next door to the new Asian-inspired Fisherman Jack’s restaurant and South Fork Baking Co., which opened last year.

We’ve been working to add a breakfast spot at Waterfront Place to round out the mix of dining options at the waterfront,” said Catherine Soper, Director of External Affairs & Business Development for the Port. “Alexa’s Cafe is a great addition to the Port’s ‘restaurant row,’ and we look forward to bringing this quality establishment, and many more, to the community very soon.

Co-owner Leigh Henderson founded Alexa’s Cafe & Catering in 1991. The family-owned restaurant group serves breakfast and lunch all day, as well as caters for private and corporate events. Their flagship restaurant opened in Bothell in 1995. Their second location, Alexa’s at Molbak’s Garden Cafe, opened in Woodinville in 2020. Though Molbak’s closed earlier this year, Alexa’s is still serving breakfast and lunch there daily, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. through April. The catering arm of the business has been based in Mukilteo since 2015.

At Alexa’s Cafe, we believe in creating a cozy space where friends, families, and neighbors can come together over delicious meals and good conversations,” said Leigh Henderson and Alexa Shaich, owners of Alexa’s Café & Catering. “From hearty breakfast options to flavorful lunch specials and decadent desserts, our menu is tailored to delight your taste buds and nourish your soul.”

The menu will be similar to the Bothell location’s offerings: scrambles, benedicts, pancakes, French toast, sandwiches, quesadillas, tacos, burgers and more. Alexa’s Cafe at Waterfront Place will also feature a small market stocked with grab-and-go breakfast and lunch items ideal for the provisioning boater, including pastries, sandwiches and snacks.

Alexa’s Cafe will be sited in one of two new retail buildings coming soon to Waterfront Place’s Fisherman’s Harbor slated to break ground this summer, with businesses opening in 2025. The buildings are being constructed as part of the Port’s new “Restaurant Row.”

We are honored that the Port of Everett believes that Alexa’s Cafe & Catering is a great fit for Waterfront Place,” Henderson said. “We’re excited to immerse ourselves in the Everett community as we’ve done in Bothell over the past 30 years.”

The second building coming to Fisherman’s Harbor will add another 6,000-square-feet of restaurant space at the corner of Seiner and West Marine View drives near the Grand Avenue Park Bridge. It will house The Net Shed, a new fish-and-chips and fish market combo. One, 2,800-square-foot space is available, for which the Port is seeking a Mexican restaurant to add new flavor at the waterfront.
