1100 Without Power In Downtown Everett After Equipment Failure Saturday Night

Snohomish PUD is working to restore power to about 1100 people in the downtown Everett, Washington core following a power outage.

The outage was reported around 9:30 PM with reports of a boom and blue burst of light near Wall Street between Colby and Hoyt.

Everett Fire was dispatched to the check out the Monte Cristo following a report of possible smoke on the roof but nothing was located.

Snohomish PUD reported on their outage map that there was an equipment failure and they were assigning crews at of 10:30 PM.

Everett Police detained one person who witnesses reported as hitting a power box with a stick just before the power went out but it is not known if that contributed to the outage.

As of this writing at 10:50 PM PUD estimates restoration of power around 3:15 AM. They listed equipment failure as the cause.
