Everett Economy

It’s taken more than two years but Chick-fil-A is almost open and now hiring for their Everett location.

A couple of notes for you from activity on Everett Mall Way. We first told you way back in May of 2021 that Chick-fil-A was planning on opening a location on Everett Mall Way at the site of a former Bank of America Branch at Everett Mall Way and West Mall Drive.

Construction started earlier this year and while we don’t have the firm opening date, Owner-Operator Brandon Ediger sent us the following e-mail on hiring for the new location.

As the local Owner-Operator, I have the opportunity to oversee the day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 110 full- and part-time Team Members. We’re still actively hiring, and interested applicants can visit our hiring website or text “CFATM” to 31063.

Chick-fil-A is known for hiring and developing top talent, and we offer several benefits such as competitive wages, scholarship opportunities, hands-on training, leadership opportunities and Sundays off.

Brandon has promised to let us know when they have an opening date.

It has long been rumored that Trader Joe’s at 811 Everett Mall Way was going to be moving into part of the former Sears building at the west end of the Everett Mall. It looks like that may be true. We spotted the following notice on the WA State Liquor and Cannabis Board licensing site.

Trader Joe's

An application has been filed with the Liquor Board to move Trader Joe’s to the Everett Mall. Click to enlarge.

Earlier this year Brixton Capital, which owns the Everett Mall announced that Ulta Beauty would be moving west from its current location to the other side of Party City and At Home Stores would be opening next to them.

According to plans filed with the City of Everett it appears the Trader Joes will be moving into one of two spaces in the remaining portion of the former Sears store. Here’s a look at how that building is changing according to a real estate development sales flyer from Mattis Partners.

Looks like Trader Joe’s will be going into B or C while Ulta Beauty and At Home are in Major A per proposed development documents for the former Sears building. Click to enlarge.

No firm opening dates have been given but progress is happening and we’ll keep following it for you. This is all phase 1 of three phases which will greatly alter the Everett Mall over the next several years.
