Editor’s Update Tuesday 10/17/2023 3:40 PM: The suspect who was arrested by Everett Police Friday is in the Snohomish County Jail on $1 million dollars bond for suspicion of 2nd degree murder. MyEverettNews.com is not naming him as formal charges have not been filed. Today the Snohomish County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 18-year-old Isaac R. Aney of Everett, Washington. The cause of death is gunshot wound. The manner of death is Homicide.
The man was arrested by Everett Police at his home on East Casino Road late Friday night and has been held over the weekend in the Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of 2nd degree murder. His bond is currently $500,000.00.
In probable cause paperwork, an Everett Police detective wrote that the suspect fired into a car carrying multiple people after it passed him on East Casino Road near the 526 overpass just west of Cascade High School.
The car reportedly had been going westbound and turned around and came back eastbound in the 700 block of East Casino passing the suspect police said who fired multiple shots from the sidewalk that hit the passenger side of the car and windshield.
The car’s driver was hit and stopped the vehicle in the 1200 block of East Casino Road. Multiple calls came into 9-1-1 and the victim was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
Several people identified the suspect to Everett Police Detectives who conducted surveillance on the suspect’s house before arresting him after he was seen entering the home Friday night.
The detective wrote that during the investigation they discovered a clear volatile conflict between the suspect and the people who were in the car.
