Got in a positive Summer update in this morning from Everett Schools!
Twenty-Five students earned their high school diplomas yesterday at Everett Public School’s summer graduation ceremony at Civic Auditorium. This exciting event is a culmination of stories of hard work and determination by the students themselves, but also an extensive support system.Success Coordinators play an important role in helping students meet standards for graduation.
They work closely with counselors, teachers, administrators and other staff to monitor and support students in reaching on-time graduation in ways that meet individual student needs. They offer opportunities for extra academic support, credit recovery and alternative programs, and serve as an advocate for students.
A big part of helping students cross the finish line to graduation is navigating the best fit for each of them. Some students thrive in credit recovery programs, such as the summer academy, which is a three-week program onsite at Cascade High School where students can take courses in core academic areas to meet standards. Other students thrive in programs such as the Graduation Alliance or taking their remaining requirements at Everett Community College.
“I am so proud of these students who persevered and worked hard to earn their diploma. It is an accomplishment to be celebrated,” said Superintendent Saltzman. “I am also grateful for our educators who provide much support to our students.”
