Burning food on the stove is one of the more common fire calls in Everett, Washington and was the apparent cause of an early morning fire in downtown Saturday.
Alarms were sounding and smoke filled a unit at the Colby Crest Apartments in the 2500 block of Colby shortly after 4:30 AM.
Residents evacuated the building and Everett Firefighters quickly contained the fire to the kitchen of a unit on the 4th floor.
