Everett Thunder On The Bay Fireworks Show A Failure Due To Unresolved Technical Issue

Firework fizzle

The only photo we managed to get of the show before it unexpectedly stopped.

Thousands of people disappointed in Everett, Washington as the City’s “Thunder on the Bay” Fireworks show suffered what was termed an unexpected technical issue that the vendor could not diagnose or resolve, which led to a failed show.

A few fireworks launched just after 10 PM but then stopped. The City’s vendor worked on the issue but was unable to resolve it.

A City of Everett spokesperson sent MyEverettNews.com a message saying they hoped to have more information in the morning.

Here is the text of a Statement Everett City Staff put out on social media at 11:28 PM.

📢 Important Community Announcement 📢
Unfortunately, we just got word that our fireworks vendor encountered an irreparable technical issue and won’t be able to resume the fireworks show. We apologize for the delay in getting this message out; we’d hoped to have some better news to share.
Thank you all for coming and we are so sorry for these unforeseen circumstances. We hope you enjoyed all of the other festivities today and that you continue to celebrate our country’s independence in your own way.
Have a safe rest of your night and we will see you next year!
