Gonna be a party at Snohomish PUD HQ this Saturday in Everett, Washington. Here are the details.
Snohomish County PUD is hosting its inaugural Energy Block Party at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 22 at its Electric Building headquarters in downtown Everett. The event is to celebrate the 53rd annual Earth Day and includes a Truckstravaganza, or Touch-a-Truck, for kids, an electric vehicle and bike show, children’s activities, giveaways and more. The event is free for everyone.
“We are excited to host this fun, family-friendly event and can’t wait to connect with our customers,” said John Haarlow, Snohomish PUD CEO/General Manager. “I encourage everyone to come and hang out, learn about your PUD and have some fun.”
The Energy Block Party will have something for everyone, including:
- A Truckstravaganza, or Touch-A-Truck: If you like trucks, this part of the event is for you. We’ll have opportunities to visit with our lineworkers and check out bucket trucks, digger trucks and vactor trucks. Thanks to our community partners, you can also marvel at a fire engine, a SWAT bearcat, an all-electric bus and more!
- An EV car and bike show: Thinking about going electric, but don’t know where to start? Get information from your neighbors to find out what they really think of their EVs and hear advice about the buying process. Sharing Wheels, a non-profit EV bike organization, will also be on hand to talk about electric bikes.
- Info booths and free giveaways: We’ll be hosting an open house where you can get free items to help your home be more efficient – and even win a tree for your yard! You’ll also be able to chat with energy experts, customer service representatives and find out about jobs at the PUD, solar power and more.
- Children’s activities: The PUD’s Education team will host a booth where children can build mason bee houses, butterfly feeders or hummingbird feeders. We’ll also have our mascot on hand and our famous high-voltage demonstration trailer to teach those of all ages about electricity and safety.
- Food trucks: We’ll have two food trucks on hand, including Dick’s Drive-In and Ryan’s REZ-ipes.
Snohomish PUD’s Energy Block Party is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the PUD’s headquarters at 2320 California St., Everett, WA. The event is free. For more information, including parking and transit access, visit snopud.com/energyblockparty.
