Everett Police Investigate After Shooting In Downtown Everett

Editor’s update Sunday 1:50 PM: Everett Police have confirmed this is a homicide investigation with the victim a male, deceased at the hospital. Major crimes detectives investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call EPD Tip Line (425) 257-8450.
Initial Report 9:15 PM:

Officers work to secure the area around the old YMCA.

Detectives with the Everett Police Major Crimes Unit are arriving on scene at the corner of Rockefeller and California streets after a person was reportedly shot around 8:15 PM.

The victim was transported by medic unit to Providence Regional Medical Center. No word at this time on their condition.

A K-9 unit was used to try and track a suspect who was reported to have been seen running from the scene. As of this writing that track was unsuccessful.

Complicating the scene for responding police officers, the hockey game was letting out at just after the time the shooting was reported. Some fans were unable to retrieve their vehicles right away as officers processed the scene. Officers were working quickly to get people back to their cars.
