Built in 1966, The Old Everett Kmart Building Finally Coming Down

February 22, 2021

Everett

We’ve done several stories on the apartment complex planned for the spot occupied by the former Kmart at 8102 Evergreen Way.

Today Excavators began tearing into the building which first went up in 1966.

The store closed in 2014 and the main store building has been vacant ever since.

For a time the spaces on the south portion of the building operated as a restaurant and also a medical supply but the main Kmart space was never reoccupied.

Most recently Everett Police and Everett Fire Department were able to use the building for training.

In two years expect to see five apartment buildings with a total of 430 apartments on the site.
