Wintertide

Santa will again arrive by fire truck.

The City of Everett is expanding the offerings at its annual Wintertide event next week with the addition of a Makers Market.

Here’s the scoop from the city P.R. folks.

Participate in festive, free, holiday fun at Everett’s annual Wintertide event on Thursday, Dec. 5. The family-friendly event is free and runs from 4-7 p.m. at the Everett Performing Arts Center, located at 2710 Wetmore Ave.

Enjoy a toasty bonfire, live music and free hot cocoa and cookies. Santa is expected to arrive on an Everett fire truck at 5:30 p.m. A new addition this year is the Everett Makers Market which will feature local vendors selling handmade holiday gifts.

“Wintertide is always a community favorite and this year we have even more activities, more music and more shows,” said Carol Thomas, cultural arts manager. “You won’t want to miss out, so bundle up the family and make an evening of it.”

Throughout the evening, children can get their faces painted, make crafts and create memories in the holiday-themed photo booth, and families can take their own photo with Santa. Families can enjoy live performances from local school groups and special short shows at the Cope Gillette Theatre where KIDSTAGE performers will present scenes and songs from “Music Man KIDS.”

All performances and activities are free to the public. For full event details and the Wintertide line up, visit everettwa.gov/Wintertide.
