Training To Add Another Level Of Noise At Naval Station Everett Wednesday (July 25th)

July 24, 2018

Everett

We reminded you last week that Naval Station Everett is testing the sound levels on their outdoor speakers and this has caused a bit of worry in the neighborhood near the base so here is a heads-up from the Navy for tomorrow regarding a drill.

Wednesday’s activities are just a drill.

Naval Station Everett will be conducting a security exercise Wednesday, July 25. Training is scheduled to occur between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Usual base access will not be affected.

The training will include shooting of blank rounds to simulate gunfire and a heightened security presence at the base waterfront and around the harbor.

Those nearby may see or hear activities associated with the exercise such as loudspeaker announcements, active emergency response vehicles and boats, or flashing lights.

Regularly scheduled exercises help maintain and improve qualifications of emergency response personnel responsible for protecting the safety and security of the Navy base, homeported vessels, and surrounding maritime environment.
