Everett Transit operates eleven different routes within the city limits. In addition, Para Transit service is available for those who have a disability or who are over 65 years of age and do not have another means of transportation. The local fare for adult riders (age 19-64) is $1.00, youth (6-18) 75 cents and reduced (seniors 65+ and disabled) is set at 25 cents.
The long term financial future is bleak with expenses outpacing revenues within the next four years. Options to counter the loss include eliminating Sunday service, raising fares, raising the local sales tax, eliminating some routes, being less generous with Para Transit service.
Before any changes are made the folks at Everett Transit are asking for input on their long-range plan. A public Question and Answer session is set for Wednesday March 7th 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM at Everett Station. You can also read the long range plan and take a survey here.
Everett Transit says the long range plan services three main goals
