It’s been nearly four months since a Lynnwood Police officer shot a man to death in Everett. Back on the night of December 17th, 2016 Lynnwood Police were in Everett following up on a domestic assault case when there was a confrontation between a 44-year-old Everett man and a Lynnwood Police officer that left resulted in a shooting and the death of the Everett Man.

Initial reports said the man was throwing something at the officer and advancing on him at the time of the shooting.

Since that time members of the Snohomish County Multi Agency Response Team, known as S.M.A.R.T. have been investigating the case. On Thursday S.M.A.R.T. spokesperson Shari Ireton announced that the investigation was done and the case has been turned over to the Snohomish County Prosecutor for review and a decision on whether or not any laws were broken during the shooting.

No word on how long it will take the Prosecutor to announce a decision. No Everett Police officers were involved in the confrontation.
