Downtown Everett Post Office To Stay Put

The for sale signs are gone as is the plan to re-locate the downtown Everett Post Office.
In January 2014 the United States Postal Service surprised Everett City officials when they announced
plans to close the postal facilities on 100th street SW near Paine Field and in downtown Everett and move the downtown Post Office to a smaller location nearby.
In October of 2014 a For Sale sign went up at the corner of Rucker and Pacific for the entire block containing the downtown Everett Post Office and processing facility.
Recently the fencing around the facility was upgraded and when the new fencing went up, the for sale sign did not. MyEverettNews.com contacted Ernie Swanson from United States Postal Service who provided this brief statement via email…
“USPS has decided not to sell the site of the Main Post Office in Everett and will continue to operate the post office at that location.”
No other details were provided though it should be noted that the closure and sale of the USPS property on 100th street SW did happen.
