Additional calls came into 9-1-1 reporting people in different apartments in “E” building were trapped.

Arriving firefighters began rescuing people off balconies. Police and firefighters went from apartment to apartment getting people out of the building.

The fire quickly went to three alarms bringing crews from throughout Snohomish County to the fire scene and other crews manned fire stations across the city of Everett.

Busses from Everett Transit were brought in to provide shelter to firefighters as they rotated crews, along with providing a place for residents displaced from their apartments to keep warm.

Assistant Everett Fire Marshall Eric Hicks tells MyEverettNews.com at least 100 people have been displaced.

Fire investigators from the Everett Police Department and Everett Fire Department are on scene. There is no cause or damage estimate yet.

The fire was still burning in various spots four hours after the initial call and firefighters will be on scene all night.
