Power Out in South Everett – Thanks to a Squirrel

June 28, 2014

Everett

UPDATE 11:35am: “It was a squirrel,” said PUD Spokesman Bob Bolerjack. Apparently the furry little guy got into an insulator at the Pinehurst substation and tripped a circuit. It put power out for about 7000 customers across the south Everett area. Bolerjack says most everyone should have power back now with everyone restored by noon. The squirrel however, did not survive.

Update 10:17am: Bob Bolerjack from Snohomish PUD says the substation at Pinehurst is having an issue. Approx. 7000 people in south Everett between Madison and Silver Lake are without power. PUD crews are working on the issue. A reminder that if traffic lights are out at an intersection it becomes a 4-way stop. Here’s a link to what to do in a power outage from the PUD. If you need to report your power out call 425-783-1001.

A few minutes before 10am power went out in the south Everett area from Madison south. Working on getting more information.
