Everett City Council Unanimously Chooses Rich Anderson to Fill Council Position 7

Rich Anderson will fill the remaining 11 months of Shannon Affholter’s term.

While many pleaded for a woman to be appointed to fill the seat on the Everett City Council vacated by Shannon Affholter, tonight the Everett City Council chose Rich Anderson to fill the remainder of Affholter’s term. Anderson and four other candidates went before the council in interviews this afternoon (a sixth was unable to attend but did submit a written statement) prior to tonight’s vote. He will be formally sworn in to serve council position 7 at next Wednesday’s Everett City Council meeting. Here’s his bio from the Hasscal, Sjoholm website…

Rich Anderson has been with Hascal, Sjoholm and Company since 1976 and a principal since 1983.

Rich provides tax and accounting services to a wide variety of clients including individuals, businesses and not-for-profit organizations.

Rich graduated from Everett High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Washington State University.

Rich has been involved in many civic and non-profit organizations including the Everett Public Facilities District, Compass Health, The Everett Public Library, The Greater Everett Community Foundation, and many others.

Rich and his wife Connie reside in Everett and have three children. In his spare time Rich enjoys hockey games, Cougar football and spending time at Crescent Bar.
