Everett Woman Charged with 2nd Degree Manslaughter for Shooting Husband in Head

The Dec. 29th shooting victim has been identified as 42 year old Quinton R. Blatchford

The Snohomish County Prosecutor’s Office today charged Melissa Blatchford with 2nd degree manslaughter in the December 29th shooting death of her husband, 42-year-old Quinton R. Blatchford. The Snohomish County medical examiner says Quinton Blatchford died of a gun shot wound to the head. 30-year-old Melissa Blatchford was charged in District Court with bail set at $500,000.00. Prosecutor’s have until January 20th to re-file the charges in Superior court and those charges could be raised to 2nd degree murder. According to documents filed by Everett Police, Melissa Blatchford told officers she thought the gun was unloaded and that she didn’t mean to shoot him. Police were called to the couple’s apartment in the 2500 block of Chestnut to reports of a domestic dispute.
