September 8, 2011

Police Blotter

This tree in Lowell has been hit many, many times over the years.

Everett Police Traffic investigators are looking into what caused a driver to crash his truck into a tree at the curve of South 2nd and South 3rd in Everett’s Lowell neighborhood. Police and firefighters got the call around 11:00pm. Everett Fire Crews had to extricate the driver, identified only as a male, from the wreckage. He was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center with life threatening injuries. No one else was in the truck. Everett Police traffic investigators were called out to work the scene due to the severity of the crash. This particular location, where South 3rd street curves into South 2nd street, has been the scene of many accidents over the years, with the tree saving the people who live in the house directly behind it on several different occasions.
