A crow was the cause of a power outage this morning that put 2400 Everett PUD customers in the dark. Downtown Everett and the Waterfront were the primary areas affected. The National Weather service has upgraded the wind watch for Sunday to a wind warning. They say late afternoon wind gusts could reach 70 miles per hour. Power Out South of Downtown Everett

A blown transformer has power out to folks just south of downtown Everett. Power went out about 6:30 PM to an area from Pacific to the north, 35th to the south, Oakes to the east and Colby to the west. PUD crews are on scene and hope to have power restored by around 8:00 PM.

Everett Power Outage Caused By Copper Thieves

This morning about 8400 customers from Snohomish PUD in west and central Everett lost power. According to Bob Bolerjack with Snohomish PUD around 6:15 this morning, the system that monitors power use saw voltage fluctuations at the Glenwood substation. PUD crews are working to restore power to an area on Evergreen Way between about Pecks Drive south to Casino. Apparently a transformer blew in the area of the Everett Fire training complex. That started a small grass fire which crews from engine 5 quickly put out. Here are a few pictures.
