Whidbey Island Man Killed When Truck Slams Into Bridge at 45th and Broadway in Everett

Update June 26, 2012: The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man killed in this accident as 28 year old Mitchell S. Casey. They have yet to determine the cause and manner of death.

A 29-year-old man from Freeland, WA has died from his injuries after the Nissan pickup truck he was driving hit the bridge at 45th and Broadway Saturday afternoon. Everett Police Collision detectives are still trying to determine what caused the man to fail to negotiate the corner across from Evergreen Cemetery where northbound traffic on Broadway has to cross over the bridge above the southbound I-5 on ramp in order to continue north on Broadway. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner is expected to complete an autopsy and identify the man early next week.
