Everett Police say they won’t speculate on the identity of a body found floating in the water between the Everett Marina and Jetty Island. Everett Police spokesman Aaron Snell reported that just after 5:00pm Friday evening a pleasure boater on the Snohomish River called 911 to report what they believed to be a body floating in the water between the Everett Marina and Jetty Island. The Everett Police Department’s Marine Unit responded to the location and recovered the body of an adult male. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner took custody of the body for investigation to make identification and family notification.

Last week police were searching for a man who went into the water in that general area following a boating accident. He was with another man when the boat they were in flipped. The other man was rescued but an extensive search was unable to locate the missing boater. Snell says police will wait for the medical examiner to determine the person’s identity and cause of death.
