Here’s the latest update on the search for the man missing when the boat he and another man were in capsized Monday afternoon…

EVERETT – Emergency responders ended their search at about 5:30 p.m. tonight for a missing man believed to be in Port Gardner Bay after the 12-foot boat he was in capsized on Monday. The search concludes after efforts that spanned more than 16 hours over two days.

Today’s recovery efforts included visual searches as well as using sonar and underwater cameras by multiple agencies including Everett Police, Seattle Police Department and Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. The crews searched the north end of Jetty Island, the area where the boat was found submerged in a shallow channel by a television helicopter pilot earlier in the day.

Crews initially responded to the call for help about 1:20 p.m. Monday May 14. Another man who was also in the boat was found in the water shortly after the boat capsized by boaters who had been in the area. Rescue crews transported him to the hospital at about 1:40 p.m. yesterday.
