Just got word that the USS Ingraham will return to Everett this Friday after a six month deployment. There’s no official time announced due to security reasons but the ships usually arrive mid morning. Here’s the official release from Naval Station Everett…
EVERETT, Wash. – The guided-missile frigate USS Ingraham (FFG 61) returns home to Everett April 6, 2012, after a six-month deployment to Central and South America.
Since Ingraham’s departure in September 2011, she participated in Counter Transnational Organized Crime (C-TOC) operations. Her missions included Operation Martillo, which supported cooperation between the United States and its partner nations in Central and South America in order to combat transnational organized crime and deter illicit trafficking. Ingraham’s efforts led to one interdiction and seven disruptions of narcotic shipments.
“One of my favorite memories of this deployment was interacting with Sailors from our partner nations,” said Commanding Officer, Cmdr. Kristin Stengel. “It was interesting to discuss their tactics for executing the C-TOC mission. They learn from us and we learn from them.”
In order to strengthen relations between the U. S. Navy and Central American coastal nations, Ingraham also took part in several training exercises with the Panamanian Navy and participated in an officer exchange program with the Columbian Navy.
