A second smaller pallet shelter project is undergoing review. Known as Faith Family Village it will be located at 6708 Candy Road. Here’s a brief description.
Faith Family Village will be located behind the Faith Lutheran Church and Faith Food Bank at 6708 Cady Rd, Everett. It will include eight 100 square foot pallet shelters for up four family members with power for lighting and heat. One locking box will be placed in each shelter. This would mean a total of 8 families with up to a total of 32 people living on site for a 90 day stay. Medical and companion animals could be considered on a case‐by‐case basis with statement from resident’s doctor that animal is necessary, proof animal has current vaccinations, and
that safety measures are followed.
Located in front of Faith Family Village is Faith Food Bank where residents will be allowed to get nonperishable, shelf stable food every week that they may store in their pallet shelter lock box. There are two other existing structures on site for Faith Family Village. One is a former daycare classroom which will be renovated to include two toilet stalls, two showers, a large sink with vanity, a washer dryer space and lockers for each family to store their bathroom supplies. The second building is a small office space for private meetings with residents and staff.
Families can not cook in their shelter, but there will be a microwave and refrigerator available for food preparation in an area with controlled access exclusively for residents.
A public hearing on this project has been scheduled for August 18th. There is a comment deadline of July 27th. Click here to learn how to participate in the hearing or provide comments. Here is a link to the management plan.
