With 80 available acres next to the runway and a skilled workforce already in place, the Snohomish County Council called for a regional effort to have the new 737 assembly line built at Everett’s Paine Field. In addition to passing a resolution calling for the new line in Everett, the Snohomish County Council authorized spending $25,000.00 on a contract with the Washington Aerospace Partnership to help fund a competitive analysis of the aerospace industry. According to a story in last month’s Seattle Times, the partnership has already come out in favor of Renton as the preferred location.
