It’s a scene that is being repeated multiple times a week across the Puget Sound.
A vehicle with a tampered ignition is found running, smashed into a marijuana or smoke shop which has been ransacked by multiple people who leave in a second vehicle.
It happened again today just before 2:30 AM at the Kushery Marijuana store in the 4800 block of Evergreen Way in Everett, Washington.
This is the second time the Kushery has been hit. The first happened on March 22nd of this year.
In this case Everett Police were called to an alarm and on their arrival found a white Kia SUV with damaged ignition had backed through the front door crashing through the gate, smashing interior bollards and a second gate 20 feet into the store. It was then parked outside the main entrance.
Witnesses reported seeing multiple people run from a second vehicle and go into the store racing out a minute later with items and fleeing in that vehicle northbound on Evergreen Way as Everett Police were arriving.
Everett Police were able to get a description out to other agencies about that vehicle but did not pursue. That vehicle was reportedly last spotted on southbound I-5 toward Seattle.
Damage to the store was extensive and at the time of this writing (4:30 AM) Everett Police were working to review video, collect evidence and assist the owner of the shop.
After the March 22nd smash and grab, the owners added external bollards and built a wall where the vehicle in that case smashed into a window on the Evergreen Way side of the building. This time the thieves used a longer route with the same result.
