Fatality Involving An SUV And Pedestrian Shuts Down Everett Avenue Between Baker & Rainier In North Everett

Everett Avenue was shut down between Rainier and Baker for the investigation.


Everett PD officers wait for detectives to arrive.

About 5:15 PM Everett Police and Fire were called to a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian in the 2200 block of Everett Avenue.

On arrival Police and Medics found a person down. Medics determined the person was deceased.

Detectives with Everett Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit were call out to investigate and both directions of Everett Avenue have been shut down. No ETA on how long.

Everett Police Public Information Officer Ora Hamel tells MyEverettNews.com the victim was identified as a male in his 50’s, the driver is a male in his 20’s.

Hamel said the driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Editor’s Note: This is the third fatality in that general area of Everett Avenue in just over the last 3 years. In October of 2020 a person on a scooter died in a collision with a vehicle and in January 2022 a 76-year-old man was killed while crossing the street in that area.
