Editor’s Update 4:00 PM: No arrests reported yet as detectives continue to investigate. Everett Police say the victim was a male in his teens. The park has re-opened.
Henry M. Jackson Park remains closed as detectives continue to collect evidence in the light of day. Here’s the latest information released by Everett Police.
Just before 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 26th, officers were dispatched to multiple reports of gunshots at Henry M Jackson Park (1700 State St).
When officers arrived on the scene, they located a male with an obvious gunshot wound in the covered area of the park. Officers began rendering aid to the male, when medics arrived at the location, he was pronounced deceased. The victim’s identity remains unknown at this time.
Witnesses informed officers that they heard multiple rounds fired and multiple vehicles were said to have fled the scene prior to police arrival. Officers initiated a K9 track to search for any suspects that may have fled on foot, none were located. Numerous casings were discovered in and around the park.
Major Crimes detectives believe the victim and suspects are otherwise known to each other; the extent of their relationship is still under investigation at this point.

MyEverettNews.com has confirmed that Everett Police received reports of gunfire and multiple vehicles leaving the area near Henry M. Jackson Park around 2:30 AM this (Sunday) morning.
Officers canvassed the park on foot and found a person in the north end of the park who had been shot.
They began life-saving measures and called for medics from Everett Fire who arrived and pronounced the victim dead.
