Following on the heels of the successful launch of the Muse Whiskey and Coffee at the Port of Everett earlier this summer, Jack Ng and NGMA Group cut the ribbon on Fisherman Jack’s Restaurant Wednesday afternoon. Here’s an overview from the Port of Everett.
Fisherman Jack’s restaurant is now open, marking the fourth new restaurant to welcome patrons to new dining spaces at the Port of Everett’s Waterfront Place this summer.
The new Asian-fusion restaurant, owned and operated by the NGMA Group of the China City brand of restaurants and the new Muse Whiskey & Coffee, brings a curated mix of Chinese favorites combined with Pacific Northwest seafood, including dim sum, rice bowls and noodle dishes.
Fisherman Jack’s anchors the Port’s new “restaurant row” at Fisherman’s Harbor in the first of four new buildings to be added, just south of Hotel Indigo.
Project partners gathered yesterday to celebrate the grand opening with a ceremonial ribbon cutting.
“It’s not easy to open a restaurant, especially not two in one month,” said Jack Ng, owner of the NGMA Group. “We want to give a big thank you to the Port of Everett, the Port Commissioners, and Port CEO Lisa Lefeber for believing in our visions. We’re excited for the future – Waterfront Place is going to be an amazing place and we’re glad to be here.”
Jack Ng is the namesake of Fisherman Jack’s, which draws from the owner’s Cantonese roots and a deep love for Pacific Northwest seafood. The high-end restaurant brand was created specifically for Waterfront Place.
The menu features Dungeness crab rangoon, shrimp and pork siu mai, Szechuan sea bass, coconut curry mussels, steamed garlic oysters and Ahi tuna with crisps. Although seafood-forward, Fisherman Jack’s also offers a variety of traditional chicken, beef, pork, tofu and vegetable dishes.
Each traditional or fusion item on the menu is paired with a cocktail, wine, beer or spirit that best compliments the dish. Click here to view full menu.
“I want to thank Jack and Jin for believing in this project and being crazy enough to agree to opening Fisherman Jack’s and The Muse Whiskey & Coffee at the same time,” Port of Everett CEO Lisa Lefeber said. “If you’ve had the opportunity to visit The Muse Whiskey & Coffee already, you’ll be just as amazed by the quality of this restaurant. The attention to detail is amazing. We really couldn’t ask for better partners.”
The restaurant and full-service bar is now open 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily. An extended schedule from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. is expected to be introduced in the coming weeks. Late-night happy hour runs from 9 to 11 p.m. with a limited menu. Reservations are encouraged, with walk-in diner’s welcome as availability allows.
“I am so excited for Fisherman Jack’s,” City of Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin said. “Jack and Jin, thank you so much for your incredible investment in our city, in our community, in our beautiful waterfront. I knew it was going to be gorgeous after seeing The Muse. I really appreciate you bringing this class of restaurant to our community.”
Fisherman Jack’s location along the Port of Everett Marina esplanade offers indoor dining with floor-to-ceiling windows, and year-round outdoor dining with a covered, climate-controlled space and an expansive open-air patio with a fireplace.
The 6,000-square-foot building was designed by PND Engineers, and The Schuster Group oversaw the tenant improvements for Fisherman Jack’s 3,800 square feet.
“I’m so proud to be a part of this restaurant, if you haven’t been to China City, they’re amazing, and Fisherman Jack’s is the next level of this evolution,” said Holly Gardner, President & Managing Principal for The Schuster Group. “I can already picture this being packed with people – it’s just a beautiful space.”
The balance of the building will house the new South Fork Baking Co., expected to open at the waterfront next month.
