Everett Police Say Tuesday’s Double Shooting Involved Two Neighbors – No Suspects Outstanding

Everett Police say, two neighbors were involved in an altercation that left both dead Tuesday afternoon.

An update today just out from Police in Everett, Washington on a double shooting in the 2300 block of Virginia Tuesday afternoon.

Major Crimes detectives are investigating an incident that resulted in a shooting, leaving a 54-year-old male and a 40-year-old male dead.

Just after 4 p.m. on August 22nd, officers received a 911 call of multiple shots fired at a residence in the 2300 block of Virginia Ave.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 40-year-old male in the backyard of the residence with gunshot wounds. Officers rendered aid, but the male succumbed to his injuries.

Officers also entered the residence to conduct a welfare check on anyone inside and found a 54-year-old male deceased with apparent gunshot wounds.

A preliminary investigation has revealed the two males were friends and neighbors, who lived across an alley from one another. Both men were inside the home when they had an altercation. At some point during the altercation, a gun was fired, resulting in the death of both men.

Major Crimes detectives are still investigating the incident. There is no evidence to suggest any outstanding suspects at this time.
